Terms & Conditions

During the registration process, participants will be required to submit a registration from and then they will receive the payment information. Payments will be handled by the OpenCollective platform.

Payment for tickets should be completed via card or bank transfer within 10 days after the email with the payment details is received. All bank charges are at the sender’s expense. Failure to pay promptly may result in refusal of entry to the event.

After the payment has been successfully processed, a receipt of payment will be issued within a few working days. If you have not received it within a week, reach out to info@socrates-crete.org with the details of your payment.

To cancel your SoCraTes Crete 2026 conference registration for any reason, please submit your request in writing via email at info@socrates-crete.org. If you have already made the payment you might be entitled for a full or partial refund depending on the date you completed your registration and the date you submitted your cancellation.

All other registration and cancellation requests that do not match the options listed above are non-refundable. Even if your reservation is not eligible for refund, please do let us know if you cannot make it and we will do our best to provide some sort of refund if possible.

Another option is to transfer your ticket to another person until October 8, 2026. In that case, please get in touch with us stating:

  • Your last name, first name, and email address, and
  • the full contact details of the person who takes over your ticket.

After the 8th of October 2026, transferring tickets cannot be guaranteed in case of shared rooms.

Conference organizers reserve the right to rescind any registration and, in that event, will return 100% of the registration fee (this does not apply to Code of Conduct violations during the event). If you have any questions or concerns regarding your registration, please get in touch with us via info@socrates-crete.org.

The organizer has the right to make amendments to the program of activities and schedule for organizational and other reasons. In the unlikely event that SoCraTes Crete 2026 is canceled, ticket fees will be fully refunded. You accept that this is the limit of liability and accept that you may not request refunds of other costs related to your travel to the conference (for example, flights, etc.). If the organizer needs to delay the conference, registrations would remain valid.

All attendees, by completing a ticket purchase or having a ticket purchased on their behalf by a third party, agree to help create a safe and respectful atmosphere at SoCraTes Crete and are additionally bound by the SoCraTes Crete by the SoCraTes Crete Code of Conduct.

Participants acknowledge and agree that they are solely and fully responsible for their actions at all times during SoCraTes Crete 2026, including both within and outside the hotel premises. Participants further agree to comply with all applicable laws and regulations and to refrain from engaging in any unlawful, illegal, or prohibited activities.

Participation in any social activities, including dinners, gatherings, or excursions taking place outside the hotel premises, is voluntary and undertaken entirely at the participant’s own risk and responsibility.

Participant data is collected by the organizer when the participant, or an authorized agent of a company purchasing the ticket on behalf of the participant, completes the ticket purchase for SoCraTes Crete 2026. This data is stored securely by the organizer of SoCraTes Crete and is used to send updates about SoCraTes Crete to participants and ticket purchasers via email. Emails providing general updates to participants about SoCraTes Crete include links allowing participants to change their mailing preferences and unsubscribe from future update communications.

Participants further understand that photos and videos may be taken during SoCraTes Crete, which may include them. These photos and videos may be used on the website and other related social media, streaming websites (YouTube), and related publications. Participants agree that their image and voice may be included in such videos, movies, and recordings, unless they explicitly indicate it at the conference location by marking it visibly on their name tags. Photos and videos that are publicly shared will not include clearly identifiable images of underage children.

Participants further agree not to publicly share, publish, or distribute photos or videos from SoCraTes Crete that include individuals who have indicated that they do not wish to appear in photos or recordings by visibly marking their name tags. Participants also agree not to publicly share photos or videos that clearly identify underage children.

In the event of any dispute arising between the parties, the courts of Greece shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle such dispute. More specifically, the competent courts of Athens shall be responsible for the resolution of any legal proceedings. This clause ensures clarity and predictability for both parties, as they are aware in advance of the forum in which any dispute shall be adjudicated and the legal system that shall govern the proceedings.This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Greece, without reference to conflicts of law principles. Any interpretation, application, and enforcement of this Agreement shall be subject to the provisions of the Greek Civil Code, relevant statutory legislation, and applicable case law as determined by Greek courts.
